Pole Lathe Turning Demonstration at the Milan Spoon Gathering
I will be demonstrating turning a ladle on a pole lathe based on Londinium ladle fragments that date back to 60-120AD that currently reside in the Museum of London collections.

Spend a weekend carving spoons from green wood! This class covers carving fundamentals as well as tool maintenance, and the fine details of spoon design. Beginners and experienced spoon carvers welcome.

I’m excited to share with you all that I’ve been invited to participate as a presenting artist at FinnFest this year. I’ll be demonstrating and selling my work in the Tori (marketplace) as well as spending some time on stage with a folklorist discussing my work (time tbd).

Join Jarrod and myself at North House Folk School in Grand Marais, MN. North House Folk School is located on the stunning north shore of Lake Superior. Over three days, we will cover the basics of turning, cutting techniques, and bowl design. Students with more experience can move to more challenging projects like nesting and end grain turning.
